For the Jing’an International Sculpture Project 2024 curated by UCCA Lab, Lucy + Jorge Orta present Genius Loci Watch Tower —a new commission in the Genius Loci series. Installed in the Jing’an Sculpture Park in Shanghai, a human figure perched on a watch tower represents the ‘spirit of the place’ traversing time, past, present, future, shaping cultural, social and ecological transitions.
