Lucy + Jorge Orta were commissioned by the city of Matera, the 2019 European Capital of Culture, to organize the 43rd act of 70 x 7 The Meal, a gastronomic discursive platform, in the village of Latronico, to value local food culture knowledge and question our relationship and impact on our natural environment. Larger-than-life plant species inspired by their expeditions to the Amazon rainforest, draw attention to species loss and the disruption of our planet's natural ecological balance.
