Lucy + Jorge Orta use windows and vitrines as focal points to draw attention to critical issues, either with a photographic reference or a series of metaphorical objects inside or suspended from the frames. The shutters and panes of this antique Spanish wooden window have been replaced by the artists photography taken during their expedition to the Peruvian Amazon, in 2009. The succession of shutters reveals the changing (fragile) Amazon landscape and concludes with a row of miniature sample bottles, as samples of life.
