  • Concept: 70 x 7 takes its meaning from the biblical signification 'endless' or infinitely. The 22nd rendition of the Orta ongoing banquets was installed in the grounds of Z33 Centre for Contemporary Art in the former dairy market ‘Zuivelmarkt’ in the town of Hasselt, Belgium. Members of the local community cultivated different species of artichoke in the museum gardens and the local catering college prepared specialty recipes for the open-air buffet to celebrate the opening of the Triennial, ‘Super!’ The artists' chose the artichoke once again as the symbol of the meal and the central motif on the Royal Limoges plates, commissioned for the event. The artichoke enveloped with 'endless' leaves reveals the heart, like love, intimate and worth fighting for.
