  • Concept: A charity dinner organised by Albion gallery in collaboration with New Philanthropy Capital, Time Magazine and Lucy + Jorge Orta to close the exhibition 'The Politics of Fear'. This dinner was the 27th rendition of a series of interactive Meals hosted by the artists each focusing on a specific theme. In the context of 'The Politics of Fear' exhibition, themes addressed by this meal were: displaced people, victims of torture, refugees and violence. Proceeds of the event were donated to The Medical Foundations for the Care of Victims of Torture, and also highlighted was the work of 6 other charities including Forward Thinking, Asylum Aid, Information Centre about Asylum and Refugees and Bail for Immigration Detainees. In keeping with the concept of 70 x 7, seven groups of seven people were our guests: Artists, Media, Charities, Collectors, Curators, Philanthropists and Political Figures/Lawyers. Albion invited an additional 50 people making 70x7 The Meal Act XXVII an event for 99 participants, the Chinese symbol for infinity. A limited edition Royal Limoges porcelain dinner plates were designed by the seven participating artists: Reza Aramesh / Xu Bing / Shilpa Gupta / Kendell Geers / Lucy + Jorge Orta / Rashid Rana / Avishek Sen.
